Stalking the Story 1 and 2 explore where stories come from, how they develop, what shapes they take and why we need them. In doing this the books hunt down early stories from folklore across the world. One half of each volume is made up of fresh, comic and dramatic retellings of these traditional tales. Turn the book over and upside down to find modern and imaginative adaptations of the same stories. In the process of reading and comparing these stories, students are led to explore the patterns and genres in literature, as well as a challenging array of oral tasks, written pieces, visual language, literary devices, tools, props and starters that are the building blocks of our language and literature.
